Thailand and Saudi Arabia were both left to rue missed opportunities in their goalless draw in group D. The result keeps Thailand in second place in the group with Saudi Arabia two points behind.
Overall it was a sloppy game played between the two two teams that looked lethargic and tired at times. Thailand had a few chances early, but could not make any of them count.
As the match progressed into the second half the Saudis began to take control of the match and dominate possession. However, they could not develop any threatening goalscoring opportunities. They did put the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out for an obvious foul on the keeper.
The two teams will face off next month in Saudi Arabia and if there is a winner that side will likely advance to the next round with Australia.
