CONMEBOL Matchday Two Results and Highlights

Bolivia 1 Colombia 2

A 93rd minute goal from Radamel Falcao gave Colombia a rare win in Bolivia. Moments earlier it appeared Walter Lopez had salvaged a draw for the Bolivians with a 85th minute strike. Dorlan Poban opened the scoring for Colombia at the start of the second half.

Chile 4 Peru 2

Chile's vaunted attack came to life at home as they picked up their first win of qualifying. Waldo Ponce and Eduardo Vargas put the hosts up two goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. Gary Medel tallied one of the goals of the round to make it 3-0 just after the halftime break and it appeared the Chileans would run riot. However, Peru clawed its way back into the match with goals from Claudio Pizarro and Jefferson Farfan to cut the lead to one. Chile then made sure of the points through Humerto Suazo courtesy of a penalty kick.

Paraguay 1 Uruguay 1

Paraguay snatched a draw at the death to obtain its first point in qualifying. Diego Forlan had given the away side the lead in the second half and it appeared Uruguay would win its second consecutive match. Unfortunately for the traveling fans, Paraguay was able to fight back and equalize in the 92nd minute when Richard Ortiz scrambled in a shot from a corner.

Venezuela 1 Argentina 0

In what may be the biggest victory in Venezuelan history, the hosts knocked off the heavily favored Argentina to pick up its first win of qualifying. Fernando Amorebieta was the hero for Venezuela, as his diving header from a corner in the 62nd minute was all the team needed.
