Guatemala and El Salvador Win in the Caribbean

Guatemala eased to a 3-0 victory over pesky St. Vincent and the Grenadines to take control of group E.

Mario Rodriguez scored a brace, opening the scoring a minute before halftime and then extending the lead to 3-0 early in the second half after taking advantage of a defensive lapse from Vincy Heat.

Dwight Pezzarossi was on target for his 14th international goal in the 55th minute to put the game out of reach. The striker was able to get on the end of a flicked header in the box and volleyed a shot by the keeper.

Guatemala now can basically wrap up the group with a win on Tuesday at home to Belize while St. Vincent and the Grenadines travel to Grenada. (Match report)
