Suriname, Anitgua and Barbuda Get 1-0 Road Wins

Suriname scrapped its way to a 1-0 victory in the Cayman Islands to keep its slim hopes of topping group A alive. The loss eliminates Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands gave a positive account of themselves at home to El Salvador last month and Suriname knew they were in for a tight match.

After a scoreless first half Suriname finally got the goal they cherished so much in the 58th minute courtesy of Giovanni Drenthe.

The win keeps Suriname two points back of El Salvador and they will host Dominican Republic on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Cayman Islands travel to El Salvador. (Match report)

Antigua and Barbuda kept pace with Haiti on wins, but fell behind a goal difference after they only beat Curaçao 1-0.

Curaçao made the away side work hard, frustrating Antigua and Barbuda throughout the match. Finally with about 15 minutes to go, Tamarley Thomas eased the hearts of Antigua and Barbuda with a huge goal.

However, Antigua and Barbuda has now dropped out of first place in group F due to its inferior goal differential to Haiti. It is now positive 11 while Haiti's is positive 14.

The side will help to run up the score against the U.S. Virgin Islands on Tuesday while Curacao will hope for a result in Haiti. (Match report)
