Guyana Gets Huge Win, Haiti Runs Riot

Guyana bolstered its hopes of advancing thanks to two second half goals in Barbados. The loss eliminates Barbados from finishing top of the group.

The majority of the match gave the impression of a dull 0-0 draw until Guyana made the breakthrough in the 73rd minute. Anthony Abrams was the hero for Guyana. In the 87th minute, Guyana made sure of the three points when Chris Nurse poked home a shot.

The win extends Guyana's winning streak to three in the group and keeps them in control of its own destiny.

Guyana now stays on the road to face Bermuda while Barbados will travel to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday. (Match report)

Haiti improved its goal difference with a crushing 7-0 victory in the U.S. Virgin Islands while eliminating the home nation in the process.

For the moment Haiti moves into first place in the group. Jean Maurice lead the way with a hat-trick including the opening goal in just the fifth minute. Reginal Gourex also added a brace.

Kim Jaggy and Kervens Belfort completed the scoring for the Haitains who now have a goal difference of positive 15.

Haiti now hosts Curacao on Tuesday while the USVI will travel to Antigua and Barbuda. (Match report)
