Panama and Canada Cruise

Panama put themselves in position to qualify for the next round with an easy 5-0 win in Dominica. They now can qualify for the next round with a win over Nicaragua on Tuesday.

The two stars for Panama, Blas Perez and Luis Tejada, each scored a goal in this match as the Central American side had no problems traveling to the Caribbean. Amir Waithe had a brace and opened the scoring for Panama. Ricardo Buitrago had the other goal.

Dominica continued its disappointing performance in this round with its second consecutive home loss. They entered as the second seed and now appeared to be headed toward a last place finish in group C. (Match report)

Canada crushed Saint Lucia 7-0 with a thorough performance on the road. Norwich City player Simeon Jackson paced the side with three goals.

Jackson already had scored two goals in the first 30 minutes of the match before Olivier Occean put it out of reach in the 35th. Occean ended up with two goals.

Ian Hume and Ashtone Morgan added a second half goal apiece to round out the scoring and keep Canada's perfect record intact and increase its goal difference to positive 13.

Canada could clinch the group provided they defeat Puerto Rico on Tuesday and get help elsewhere. (Match report)
