With the third series of games set to take place Tuesday, most of the sides still left in AFC qualifying prepared with a friendly match this weekend.
Thailand 0 Jordan 0
Thailand prepped for its huge home match against Saudi Arabia by facing Jordan, who will make the short trip to Singapore for its next qualifier. However, neither team could find the net in the game.
Singapore 2 Philippines 0
Singapore traveled to already eliminated side Philippines and came away with a nice 2-0 win. The Philippines were bounced from the competition in round two by Kuwait. Singapore meets Jordan on Tuesday in group A. Unfortunately no highlights of the goals exist.
China 2 U.A.E. 1
The Chinese will host Iraq on Tuesday and gained some much needed confidence with a 2-1 win over the U.A.E. For the U.A.E. it was Abdullah Masfar's first match as head coach. The struggling Gulf nation faces South Korea on Tuesday.
South Korea 2 Poland 2
South Korea prepared for the U.A.E. with a home match versus Euro 2012 co-host Poland. The two sides played an open match that finished two all with each team taking a lead.
Japan 1 Vietnam 0
Group C's Japan hosted eliminated Vietnam and defeated them 1-0. The Vietnamese were knocked out of the competition by Qatar in the previous round. Tadanari Lee scored the lone goal of the match. Japan, who were the only group C team to play a friendly this weekend, matches up with Tajikistan on Tuesday.
Australia 5 Malaysia 0
Australia ran a boatload of goals by the eliminated Malaysia, including four first half ones. Malaysia went out in the second round narrowly to Singapore. Australia remains at home to face its group D counterpart Oman on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia 0 Indonesia 0
Group D's Saudi Arabia traveled to group E's Indonesia in a match between two stumbling teams. Neither side could break through in the friendly and it finished goalless. Saudi Arabia now makes the short trip to Thailand while Indonesia stays home to face Qatar.
Iran 7 Palestine 0
Iran routed eliminated Palestine 7-0 as it got ready to face Bahrain at home on Tuesday. Palestine, who was eliminated in round two by Thailand, did not put up much of a fight in the second half as Iran scored six in the final 45.
