Uzbekistan opened its third round with a nice 1-0 road victory in Tajikistan. Maksim Shatskikh scored the lone goal of the game in the second half.
The Arsenal Kyiv striker struck in the 74th minute of an evenly contested match. The road win sees Uzbekistan get off to a positive start. Meanwhile, Tajikistan was playing its first match since being reinstated to the competition following the disqualification of Syria.
Uzbekistan now sits top of group C along with Japan while Tajikistan and North Korea sit bottom of the table. The two sides at the top of the table square off on Tuesday along with the two bottom sides.
