The hosts played a mostly defensive style throughout and refused to budge, frustrating the Saudis. Both sides come away from the game disappointed that they could not take all three points, although it may come back to hurt Saudi Arabia more.
Australia's win over Thailand puts them top of group D at the moment, with Oman and Saudi Arabia sharing second place. Thailand hosts Oman on Tuesday while Saudi Arabia travels back home to face Australia in a crucial match.
