South Korea Held to Draw in Kuwait

Park Chu-Young scored his fourth goal of qualifying, but Kuwait rebounded to post an impressive result, a 1-1 draw against the group B favorites.

Chu-Young opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a fantastic team-worked goal. After a nice dummy, the new Arsenal striker took one touch before firing a rocket with his right foot that left the keeper rooted to the spot.

Kuwait fought its way back into the match and were rewarded with a scrappy equalizer. After a cross was played into the box, the ball deflected off a Korean defender and before the goalie could grab it, Hussain Fadel poked it into the back of the net.

South Korea now shares the top spot in the group with Kuwait, although the East Asian nation is ahead because of its great goal difference. South Korea hosts the struggling U.A.E. next month while Kuwait travels to underdog Lebanon.
